~Kensuke's Kingdom~ Michael's Map~

This is a map showing where Michael and his family went on there trip around the world. We are reading Kensuke's Kingdom by Micheal Moropurgo, this is similar to what we did with Bridge to Terabritha (Look in labels under reading). I used Google Presentation and animated most of it. I think this is a really good tool to use when you are showing something to someone or explaining something... (example building a sandwich)

To complete this task we had to write down and take notes about what the important events were.  Sometimes they were out of order and we had to infer which came first.  Then we had to find out where these places are on a map.

~Bridge to Terabitha~Review~

~Bridge to Terabitha Review~

-Book-
I think Bridge to Terabitha is a great book to read and use for learning because you can find many different different ways to use it.
The story itself is very cool because it has different parts that are very interesting and parts where you just love it! I like how the author (Kathrine Paterson) made Jess and Leslie both different and how when they became friends they were like this special bond which was one of the main things in the book.
With this book in Rom 20 we have learnt what the purpose of the characters were and the differences from Leslie and Jess. Everybody in Room 20 loved the book and put lots of work into it.
Bridge to Terabitha is one of those books is where once you start reading it you don't want to put it down, and that's what makes it so amazing!

-Movie-
The movie and the book are both very cool. When room 20 watched the movie after we finished reading the book we spotted differences and part they added to make it more interesting like Janice Avery blocking the toilets to show she is the school bully, she is mean and you won't want to mess with her!
With the movie it shows the picture they want you to see but in the book you have to imagine it in your head.
It's amazing just like the book and it's a great movie!

~Bridge to Terabitha~Jess's Timeline~

This is my timeline that is showing what has changed in Jess in mostly all the chapters:

Chapter 1 - Jess was shy and unable to stand up for himself.

Chapter 2 - Jess met Leslie & thought she was a strange and weird girl.

Chapter 3 - Leslie beats Jess at a race and he gets angry at her.

Chapter 4 - Jess & Leslie become friends and they create Terabirtha!

Chapter 5 - Jess got a bit mean and he and Leslie wrote a love note to prank Janice Avery the meanest girl in school.

Chapter 6 - Jess is nicer and nicer to Leslie that he even gave her a puppy called PT (Prince Terrien)

Chapter 7 - He met Leslie's family and he liked them a lot  So Jess and Leslie's friendship grew stronger in this chapter.

Chapter 8 - Jess does not change that much in this chapter.

Chapter 9 - He is fearless and goes across to Terabitha even though in the creek there is fast flowing water.

Chapter 10 - he was more confident because Miss Edmonds kind of helped him too.

Finding where and how he changed in each chapter was kind of hard because in some chapters he did not change much and in some he changes a lot and you can not say that much just like a sentence or two. You also had to be creative with the design but I was not able to Draw it on but here is a picture...
I had to read some of the chapter again and again to see what changed with him and that was pretty easy, then I just had to write it down.

~Bridge To Terabithia~Leslie's Obituary~

~leslie’s Obituary~

We are sad to announce that Leslie Burke has died.
She died on 10 January 1974. Leslie died by swinging across a very old rope hanging on a crabapple tree, the rope snapped and Leslie fell to her death. Soon she was drowning in the following water.
Leslie Burke(Left),Jesse Aarons(right) & PT(Prince terrain) the dog.

Background information:
Leslie attended Lark Creek Elementary and is a 5th grader. Leslie was a friend of Jesse Aarons and they both were best friends.

Funeral Information:

Leslie will be cremated and her ashes will be placed in the Burkes family home in pennsylvania

Above is my Obituary that I had to write for Leslie's death.
For when she died we had to choose a random date because it did not state it in the book.
Writing it was not that difficult if you knew exactly what happened because we just read up to the part where they said that Leslie had died but not how she died, so all the teacher said is that she drowned. Only some of us knew how she drowned so it was easier for us. (the rope snapped and she drowned in the water)
This was a fun activity because we got kind of feel like we were her parents and seeing their perspective when writing this.
