~Japan~

Hey!

This is one of the homework that we had to do. We did it because we wanted to learn more about Japan because we have Japanese students visiting our schools. I used Google presentation and created all the effects using animation. It took some time but I got there in the end!
I hope you guys enjoy!

~Kensuke's Kingdom~ Michael's Map~

This is a map showing where Michael and his family went on there trip around the world. We are reading Kensuke's Kingdom by Micheal Moropurgo, this is similar to what we did with Bridge to Terabritha (Look in labels under reading). I used Google Presentation and animated most of it. I think this is a really good tool to use when you are showing something to someone or explaining something... (example building a sandwich)

To complete this task we had to write down and take notes about what the important events were.  Sometimes they were out of order and we had to infer which came first.  Then we had to find out where these places are on a map.

~Inquiry~Bottle tops~

At the start of the year all the year 6's went to camp. We did lots of fun adventure activities but didn't learn lots about how rubbish is impacting on marine life and our oceans, seas and beach! So we are going to help camp MERC with it... BUT we want the lesson to be fun and memorable...

We are also going to make a mural out of bottle tops, but we found out that when bottle tops are in sun light they can break down and the color of the bottle top goes pale and that is the sign when the bottle tops will be able to be crushed into small pieces. We (Room 20) want to know a few things...
1. does color affect anything? (Because people day darker colors absorb sun light)
2. Does the salt in the sea affect or does anything?
3. Sun light or artificial light?
We are trying to test all of this now and find out how long it takes for all of this to happen and when the bottle tops will crush so we know if we can put the mural inside or outside...

This will take a while but in the end we will get there. We Also check the different temperatures and whats happening.

Making graphs on Spreadsheets

This is a spread sheet that I made to create a graph. We asked lots of questions but in the end we stuck to one question to put into the graph because if we did all of them (excluding the name) it was really messy so we just stuck to one question.
I found it a fun way to do math (statistics) because we used ICT!
