~Monet Gardens~

The picture below is a piece of Art everybody in room 20 has done. We had to use different techniques like sponging, using masking tape and using a brush to create the pond.

What we had to do...

1. We had to first draw the horizon and the pond so we know what is where. (like the sky and the grass e.t.c)

2 Then we used the masking tape to create the fence. When using the masking tape we had to use the right amount of tape. If it was to short then you would have to use more tape until it was covered where you wanted it too. But if it is to long then you can just rip the rest off.

3. Secondly we used a sponge to sponge on the green and yellow for the grass/ground.

4. Then we did the drag for the sky using a piece of cardboard and using white, light blue and a bit of dark blue.

5. Soon we did the bushes using green for the body of the bushes and blue for the shadow. We used blue because Claude Monet never used pitch black.

6. Next we did the pond with a brush using the colours white and light blue.

7. Soon we did the Lilly pads. We had to use a brush and the colours... Yellow, pink and red.

8. Then we did the flowers (The different coloured dots) with the end (the wooden bit) of the brush and dipped it in different types of colours.

9. Second to last we did our paths witch is the brown spongey bit with a sponge and we used the colour         brown.

10. FINALLY we ripped of the masking tape (Carefully) but some of them the masking tape ripped a bit of the paper off.

Reflection :

I think this was fun and simple. Not to hard or not to easy. We got to learn how to use different types of materials like sponges and brushes. This is a great way to explore and using different materials because we had to experiment sometimes with some parts we did. (Like a practice) My next step is to probably keep practicing and using the techniques and doing more art.
